SAN ANTONIO (June 17, 2025) – The McNay Art Museum appointed Stacy Hicks Herr as head of development on June 2. In her role, Hicks Herr will lead the Museum’s comprehensive fundraising and membership initiatives, focusing on both contributed and earned revenue streams, and oversee future capital campaigns.

“I am pleased to welcome Stacy Hicks Herr as our head of development,” said Matthew McLendon, director and CEO of the McNay. “Stacy’s arrival brings added strength and fresh insights that will ensure the McNay’s continued growth and sustainability, engaging donors and members in meaningful partnerships that advance our cultural and educational impact.”

Hicks Herr has over 20 years of experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, where she spearheaded mission-driven campaigns aimed at increasing and diversifying revenue portfolios. She brings extensive experience in designing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives that strengthen and deepen relationships with key stakeholders and the broader community.

Most recently, Hicks Herr was director of strategic partnerships and engagement for Wholesome Wave, an organization focused on ending food and nutrition insecurity across America by increasing affordability and access to fresh produce. Prior to that role, she served various other nonprofit organizations including the American Heart Association as executive director of San Antonio and the South Texas Region; Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) as vice president of development; and Junior Achievement of South Texas as special events manager. Earlier in her career, Hicks Herr was a member of the sales and marketing division of Pearson Education, as well as a special education teacher in the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD).

“I am honored to work with the McNay Art Museum to foster a culture of philanthropy and to make a lasting impact in our expanding community,” said Hicks Herr. “Serving beside those who believe in our mission is an amazing gift. I look forward to deepening relationships with our supporters as we continue to deliver moments of surprise, inspiration and beauty for our visitors and the broader arts community.”

Hicks Herr holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a teaching certification in K-12 Special Education.
