Lead funding of the McNay’s educational programs is most generously provided by Kronkosky Charitable Foundation. Major funding is provided by Semmes Foundation, Inc., Mays Family Foundation, and William Randolph Hearst Fund. Additional support is provided by Jack H. and William M. Light Charitable Trust, Valero Benefit for Children, and the William L. Cowden Charitable Foundation.

Weekend Family Workshops

Last Sunday of the month

Weekend Family Workshop is a program for families that involves looking carefully at works of art and investigating a studio or performance component afterwards.

Free Family Days

Offered annually Fall, Spring Break, & Summer

Join us for our Family Days held three times a year! Celebrate an exhibition or art theme by making art, attending a performance, watching a demonstration, and more.

Free First Sundays are generously supported by the Dickson-Allen Foundation. Free admission to the museum. Check calendar listings for upcoming dates. Also see www.mcnayart.org/families. 

  

Art Cart

  • Available on Thursday nights from 5:30-8 pm (except 2nd Thursdays) and First Sundays from 1-3 pm

Sign out puzzles, sketching packs, a set of guide cards, or check out books for free. Explore the galleries and the grounds together and talk about what you discover.

Ask about the Family Gallery Kits when you enter the museum.

ArtStrolls

 First Friday of every month from 10am-noon 

Caregivers and babies up to 3 years enjoy a quick coffee for caregivers, a stroller tour the museum, and participate in storytime and social activity.

$15 for not-yet-member adults; free for member adults and recipients of WIC, SNAP, & MAP via Museums for All. See calendar listings for upcoming dates. Strollers and carriers encouraged. Questions: Call 210-805-1765 or email education@mcnayart.edu.

Toddler Art Play

Third Friday of the month, 10:30–11:30 am

Mini museum visit meets creative playtime for children under 5. Wear paint clothes for a fun, sometimes messy time at the McNay!
