Enjoy a creative way to make “food” items out of recycled materials in this soft sculpture workshop. Join us as we make a plate of Fish & Chips with upcycled fabric inspired by Claes Oldenburg's French Fries and Ketchup on view in Robert Indiana: A Legacy of Love.
This workshop is FREE and open to all ages 8 and up.
Registration is required. Capacity limitations apply. (max 100 registrants)
Supplies needed from home:
- Basic sewing kit or needle and thread *please supervise young children, and always use your pin cushion!*
- Sewing machine preferred, if available
- Recycled fabric: old clothes, scratch fabric, towels, literally anything made of fabric that you can cut up and upcycle.
- Pen or pencil
- Ruler or straight edge
- Cotton balls or Polyfil (tip: old pillows or stuffed animals can be used for their stuffing)
- Scrap paper
