Begin the day with a special tour of prints by Latina artists in Estampas Chicanas. Then travel to La Printería, a printmaking studio specializing in silkscreen on San Antonio’s Westside. Coat and expose a screen with your own artwork (due April 1) and print an edition of 10+ prints.
Image tips: The paper size is 12×18 in (reserve a one inch margin). Prints have a max of two colors (think blocks of a solid color with black overlay) or split-fountain with a solid color overlay. A jpg or pdf of your illustration is due by Monday, April 1 to allow for editing.
Ages 14+. Teachers receive 5 hours of continuing professional education credit. Space is limited and registration is required. Fee (includes Museum admission, lunch, supplies, and edition of prints): McNay Members $75; nonmembers $95. For more information, e-mail education@mcnayart.org.
