In tracking the significance of legendary performer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, Journalist Maria Garcia created Anything for Selena, a podcast about belonging, identity, and community. In the years since her murder in 1995, celebration of Selena’s music, image, and celebrity have moved from the margin to the mainstream securing her status as La Reina—the Queen. Garcia examines the Selena of her youth and the image of Selena today, making sense of her own Latina identity within the context of Selena’s bi-cultural experience and influence. Join for a virtual conversation with Maria Garcia, Host, and Kate Carey, Head of Education.

This conversation is a program of current exhibition Selena Forever/Siempre Selena on view through August 1, 2021.
