Educators can explore the McNay Art Museum’s Spotlight program in this hands-on workshop focused on enhancing classroom creativity. Spotlight invites K-12 students to create artistic responses to a selected piece from the McNay’s collection, which will be displayed at the museum.
Workshop highlights include:
- A study and discussion of this year’s Spotlight artwork, which inspires students’ artistic responses.
- A hands-on, nature-themed stop-motion activity that can be adapted for classroom projects.
- Practical strategies for integrating art into lesson plans and preparing students for the annual Spotlight Celebration in May.
Participants will earn three hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credit and leave with new tools for fostering student creativity.

- Participants should bring a smartphone or tablet with photo capabilities and download the free Stop Motion Studio app before the event.
