Sketch the McNay takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. Guided by an educator, participants engage in a brief conversation about the selected artwork, followed by short drawing exercises. The session ends with a long, observational drawing of the artwork.
Drawing pencils, paper, sharpeners, erasers, and clipboards provided. Guests are welcome to bring materials; only graphite can be used in the galleries.
This month, we will be studying Woman in Sheep by Kiki Smith, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, we will be studying Alligator by Luis Jimenez.
