On April 13, 1950, Marion Koogler McNay passed away. She bequeathed her residence, its twenty-three acres, and more than seven hundred works of art to San Antonio, founding the first modern art museum in Texas. Discover Marion’s legacy and how she wanted to give San Antonio, in her own words, “a place of beauty with the comforts and warmth of a home.”
