Library

The McNay Art Museum Library has been central to the museum’s research activities since its founding in 1954. Built on a core of books from Marion Koogler McNay’s personal library, the library has grown to over 30,000 cataloged volumes, 20,000 files on artists and fine arts institutions, and other significant holdings.

The library is a non-circulating art research facility that serves the museum staff, interns, docents, members, volunteers and welcomes outside scholars, appraisers, high school students, university students, teachers, as well as the general public for reference and art-related research.
