Distinguished Lectures

Offered three times a year, presented by nationally and internationally known architects, art historians, critics, and writers whose talks cover a broad range of aesthetic concerns. One Distinguished Lecture each year, sponsored by The Tobin Theatre Arts Fund, relates to theatre design or performing arts.

Offered in the galleries on Thursday evenings or Sunday afternoons

Artists Looking at Art

Area artists talk about their own work and works in the McNay’s collection and exhibitions; cosponsored by the McNay Contemporary Collectors Forum and the Education department, on the second Thursday evening of every month

Exhibition Talks

Given Thursday evenings. Watch for 3Views, three half-hour presentations by McNay staff, local faculty, or local performers in an exhibition

Performances

Offered free on Sunday afternoons or Thursday evenings, concerts by area musicians, as well as literary readings and small theatrical presentations

Films & Videos

Occasional screenings on Thursday evenings or Sunday afternoons. Films are related to exhibition themes. Documentary videos about artists and related humanities subjects complement exhibitions and the McNay collection.
