Exhibition Performances & Discussions: The Ballad of Emmett Till Thursday, September 13, 6:30 pm Sunday, September 16, 3:00 pm, Chiego Lecture Hall
Written by Chicago playwright Ifa Bayeza, The Ballad of Emmett Till tells the story of a boy who sparked the civil rights movement of the 1950s. Directed by Vincent Hardy, five San Antonio actors capture the powerful truths at the heart of the story, creating a work of poetry and theatricality. Following the reading, Vincent Hardy, Assistant Professor, St. Philips College, and Jody Blake, Curator, Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts, lead a discussion. On Thursday, playwright Ifa Bayeza joins the discussion; on Sunday, the cast joins the discussion.
