Entrance to the museum is through the Stieren Center for Exhibitions. This entrance has a handicapped accessible ramp. Cashiers and Visitors Services are located in the main lobby. Visitor Services is there to help you with information about the museum and San Antonio. Most of the galleries are wheelchair accessible; however, some areas require additional assistance. ![]() Museum Rules
Please help us take care of the works of art on display in the museum and on the grounds by not touching them and staying at least 12 inches away. Photography is not permitted in exhibitions on loan to the McNay. Flash photography is not permitted anywhere inside the museum. Smoking, food, and beverages are not permitted inside the museum. Be courteous of others when using cell phones. We reserve the right to inspect the contents of bags and parcels entering or leaving the museum. For your safety and security, closed circuit television cameras observe all galleries and record all activities that occur. ![]() Snacks and Area Restaurants
The museum has a vending area adjacent to the patio where visitors may purchase cold drinks and snacks. The surrounding area also offers a variety of restaurants and Visitor Services will also be glad to recommend a local restaurant that meets your needs. Picnicking Guidelines The grounds of the museum are open to the public for picnicking by small groups during the designated hours listed above and in areas that are not scheduled for museum use. Picnickers must conduct themselves in a manner that does not disturb others, does not interfere with the display of outdoor art, does not damage property, and does not create a safety hazard. Alcohol, cooking, and open fires are prohibited.
