    The McNay Contemporary Collectors Forum (MCCF) supports contemporary art at the McNay and builds bridges between the museum and San Antonio's vibrant art community. MCCF members enjoy privileges including exclusive viewings of exhibitions and private collections, travel opportunities, participation in the acquisition of new contemporary art for the museum, and distinctive educational presentations with critics, curators, and art historians.

     

    MCCF is responsible for initiating the Artists Looking at Art series of monthly gallery talks at the McNay, which features a local artist that offers his or her personal perspective on the McNay's collections and special exhibitions. Throughout the month, a work by the artist hangs in the museum. Artists Looking at Art is open and free to the public.

  • Passionate about Prints and Drawings?

     

    If you’d like to learn more than a thing or two about prints and drawings, the Friends of the McNay have spent more than 50 years doing just that and more:

     

     

    Visiting printmaking studios, galleries, extraordinary exhibitions, and private collections in San Antonio.

     

    Exploring the varied possibilities of woodcuts, etchings, lithographs, and screenprints.

     

    Traveling with other print enthusiasts on an annual Friends trip to see other collections of works on paper.

     

    Expanding personal collections with special previews of the McNay Print Fair.

     

    Helping the McNay to develop its nationally recognized collection of prints and drawings.

     

     

    Dedicated to supporting the growth and expansion of the McNay’s renowned prints and drawings collection, the Friends of the McNay is a dynamic auxiliary group that engages its members to learn, experience, and explore print making and collecting. As lead sponsors of the annual McNay Print Fair, the Friends also provide fundraising support for museum acquisitions. Members enjoy unique educational and social events including hands-on workshops, curator-led exhibitions tours, artists talks, and visits to galleries and private collections.

    If you are thrilled by a curtain call and love a standing ovation, you will:

    -Participate in the acquisition of new theatre designs for the McNay’s collection
    -Attend “Backstage at the McNay”, a bi-monthly program of gallery talks and performances
    -Attend special receptions for theatre arts exhibitions and private tours of the Tobin Collection
    -Receive invitations to the Tobin Distinguished Lecturer series and meet visiting theatre artists and historians
    -Receive updates about Tobin Collection activities at the McNay and beyond, including current projects by designers in the collection
    -Opportunity to join other McNay affiliate groups on curator-led trips around North America

    Visionary collector and philanthropist, Robert L. B. Tobin, believed that theatre brought together all forms of art—literature, music, dance, and the visual arts. Now, theatre artists and enthusiasts across the nation can share in that vision by joining the McNay Art Museum’s Tobin Theatre Arts Council.

    SETTING THE STAGE
    Tobin Theatre Arts Council members have behind-the-scenes access to the McNay’s renowned Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts. By joining the Council you will have the opportunity to be a “theatre angel” and help the McNay acquire scene and costume designs to expand the theatre arts collection. The Council also connects the Tobin Collection to the world of live performance including plays, operas, and ballets. In addition, Tobin Theatre Arts Council members are front and center for the best in theatre with special opportunities to meet the artists and designers who create it.
