Your donation provides essential funding. Over 60% of the museum’s annual operating budget is funded through the generous support of individuals, businesses, and foundations. Philanthropy is key to the museum’s 53-year history of success. As a private museum, the McNay has continuously operated in the black and does not rely on local government funding for operating income.

Contributions provide vital support, over and above membership dues, to continue offering a dynamic menu of special exhibitions and outstanding programs and providing programming to over 100,000 visitors, including more than 20,000 elementary, middle, high school, and university students.

The McNay Art Museum’s $50.8 million capital campaign for the new Jane and Arthur Stieren Center for Exhibitions truly represents a transformation of the museum. The most ambitious campaign in our prestigious 53 year history and the largest to date for any art institution in San Antonio, this expansion will enable us to lift our community’s cultural experience to national prominence.

Annual Fund

Celebrate family and friends with a gift to Museum!

Gifts in honor or in memory offer a wonderful way to pay tribute to family, friends and business associates, and support the McNay Art Museum’s collections, exhibitions, and educational programs at the same time.

Your contribution will be acknowledged with a personalized card sent to the honored individual or their family. In addition, the name of the individual being honored along with your name will be listed in the McNay’s magazine, Impressions. All gift amounts are confidential unless otherwise requested.

Sponsor an Exhibition

Each year, selected special exhibitions are co-sponsored by a Host Committee. By making a contribution of $250 or more, individual donors have the opportunity to support an exhibition. The money raised by the Host Committee is usually used towards the expenses of the opening events of the show. In appreciation for this gift, the names of the donors are listed on a panel that is displayed in the exhibition while it is on view at the McNay.
