Get Reel gets updated. This fall, filmmaker George Ozuna curates a selection of four films related to the artist Chuck Ramirez. Ozuna introduces each selection, discusses connections to Ramirez, and afterward offers Q & A. Wine and refreshments are available 30 minutes before each screening.
Directed by Jim Jarmusch, three stories converge in Memphis, Tennessee. A Japanese couple on a blues pilgrimage, an Italian widow stranded overnight, and a newly single and unemployed Englishman (Joe Strummer) find themselves at the Arcade Hotel, a run-down flophouse with a portrait of Elvis Presley in each room.
1989. English. 110 min. Color. R. Orion Classics.
Some films may not be appropriate for all audiences. All Get Reel films shown in the Chiego Lecture Hall, unless otherwise noted. Free with Museum admission. General admission to the Museum is free on Thursday nights.
