Teacher Resource Center for Visual Art

Committed to enhancing visual arts instruction in classrooms, the Teacher Resource Center for Visual Art (TRC) at the McNay offers free teaching resources, videos, slides, online lesson plans, and a computer station with a scanner and internet access. Call 210.805.1764 for further information, or email education@mcnayart.org to have your name put on the McNay’s Education mailing list.

Teacher Programs

The McNay offers state certified Continuing Professional Education (CPE) certificates for all teacher programs and for some public lectures and gallery talks. Look on the calendar for programs offering CPE credit. If you wish to receive a CPE certificate, call 210.805.1768, or email education@mcnayart.org, giving your name with correct spelling.

Teacher Sharing Sessions, one-hour sessions on Thursday evenings related to an exhibition or the McNay collection

Teacher Workshops, half-day Saturday workshops related to an exhibition, the McNay collection, art media, or a curriculum area

Evenings for Educators, Thursday evening events with refreshments and elective sessions related to an exhibition

Summer Teacher Institute, three days in June relating a wide variety of curriculum areas to art in the McNay collection or an exhibition

Tres Museos: A Museum Day for Educators, a Saturday in August hosted by the McNay, the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the Witte Museum to introduce the exhibitions and programs for teachers and students during the upcoming academic year.
